At African Safari Adventures we offer you an exciting array of experiences, from luxury game lodges to comfortable private bush camps, from a day safari to a week in the bush, from the Kruger to Cape Town or South Africa to Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe or Mozambique. Whether you’re looking for a fully escorted safari, a fly-in safari to a luxury lodge or a self-drive option, we can plan your trip for you and make all your reservations. We understand that everyone has different needs and we are confident that we can tailor-make the dream holiday that you’re looking for.

SAFARIS

Our escorted safaris take place in the southern and central sections of the Kruger National Park, where wildlife is plentiful. Accommodation can be booked at the larger rest camps or at the smaller bush camps, depending on the type and length of the tour. We have a choice of twin bedded bungalows, 2 bedroomed cottages or 4 bedroomed private guest houses. Guests can choose to eat in the camp restaurants or have their own chef to prepare all their meals for them. We use open safari vehicles for the game drives and our early morning departures allow the best possible sightings and photographic opportunities as the game is more active in the cool dawn hours.

GUIDES

Our safari guides are all highly experienced and qualified, most of them being ex-rangers from private game lodges. The majority of them are from our local Shangaan community and have a wealth of knowledge including animal behaviour, birdlife, local vegetation and its’ medicinal uses, all of which they are waiting to share with you! They understand our philosophy of service excellence and are dedicated to ensuring that you enjoy the ultimate safari experience.

In addition to our safari guides we also have our cultural guides who have an intimate knowledge of the local history and its’ varied cultures. They can tell you about the Shangaan’s, the Swazi’s, the Sotho’s, the Zulu’s, the Khosa’s and the Pedi’s, their myth’s, their legends and their traditional tales, handed down through the centuries.

VEHICLES

The open vehicles are built to strict specifications and are all SABS (SA Bureau of Standards) approved. Some of the benefits of an open vehicle are:-

•  Height – approx. 1.6m above the ground
•  Radio links to other vehicles to help with finding the best possible sightings
•  Unhindered view on 3 sides
•  Comfortable seats – 3 individual bucket seats per row with one seat next to the guide (10 seats in total). Seats are positioned so that you can see over the head of the person in front (providing they aren’t 6ft 6!)
•  Each vehicle carries a cooler box with chilled mineral water as well as blankets for cooler weather and ponchos for inclement weather
